SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - Westside Athletes Association has concluded the 2017 United for Youth fundraiser. Fundraising began in December 2016 and closed on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. The goal of UfY 2017 was bringing a 2-day fitness certification course to San Francisco for 20 P.E. teachers in the San Francisco Unified School District.
WAA raised $10,766 through donations to United for Youth. In addition, WAA secured an agreement with the San Francisco Department of Public Health to use a portion of a grant awarded to SFDPH by the City and County of San Francisco for professional development of SFUSD P.E. teachers.
The training took place on April 5-6, put on by The Brand X Method, and will help these teachers implement functional fitness programs at their schools.
